What is the medication vigabatrin used for?

Vigabatrin powder is used to control infantile spasms (a type of seizure that babies and children can have) in babies 1 month to 2 years of age. Vigabatrin is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants. It works by decreasing abnormal electrical activity in the brain.

What are the side effects of vigabatrin?

The most common side effects of SABRIL in adults include: blurred vision, sleepiness, dizziness, problems walking or feeling uncoordinated, shaking (tremor), and tiredness. The most common side effect of SABRIL in children 3 to 16 years is weight gain.
