Do you need to refrigerate almond paste?
Almond paste is often used when making frangipane (see below), a type of almond filling used in many tart recipes. Once it’s opened, you can keep it well wrapped in the refrigerator. For longer storage, wrap the leftover almond paste and store it in a freezer-quality plastic bag up to 1 year.

Can almond flour get weevils?
Pests: If you notice any specs in your almond flour, it could be a sign it has been infested by bugs. Nut flours in particular attract insects such as weevils that can lay eggs in the flour. Though harmless, consuming weevils is less than appetizing.
Can I use almond flour instead of regular flour for cookies?

Does marzipan contain cyanide?
Marzipan is flavoured with almonds – and almonds contain a source of cyanide, amygdalin. Amygdalin can be broken down by enzymes in the gut to release hydrogen cyanide, which is readily absorbed into the blood and transported to cells where it can stop cell respiration in its tracks.
Will expired almond paste make you sick?
Consuming rancid or stale nuts like almonds, walnuts or cashews in small amounts may not immediately make you sick, but it’s generally not advisable as it may hamper digestion or have other harmful effects on your body in the long term.
