The Audio-Technica ATH-M30x is a great choice for anybody that needs a decent set of over-ear studio monitors. While the frequency response is not totally spot on, it works for basically every situation reasonably well. The Audio-Technica have a more stable fit that feels much better built, and their frequency response is more consistent among users. They are decent headphones for the price but they are not what I would call good for gaming, mainly because they are closed back. Closed back headphones don’t have great sound stage, meaning judging the direction and distance of sounds in game will be more difficult than it would be with a open or semi open headphone.
