Can you do DofE on your own?
DofE Direct is a direct way for 18-23 year olds to achieve their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award online and independently without the need to attend weekly sessions at a local DofE centre.

What do you have to do for the bronze Duke of Edinburgh?
A Bronze DofE programme has four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. You must do a minimum of three months activity for each of the Volunteering, Physical and Skills sections, and plan, train for and do a two-day, one-night Expedition.
Can you do year 11 DofE?
You need to be at least 14 to start doing a Silver DofE programme and in Year 10 or Year 11 at school (for 2018-19). Again, it has four sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. You need to do at least 6 months Volunteering and a minimum of 6 months on either Physical or Skills and 3 months on the other.
Can I do DofE outside of school?
Is there an alternative way to begin a DofE Award outside of school? As an alternative you can do it through The Scouts, The Guides, CCF and most youth organisation nation wide.
Do you have to pay for DofE?
Everyone receives a DofE Card to get discounts on things like kit and expeditions don’t need to be expensive.
Can you use your phone on DofE?
Can I bring my mobile phone? Yes – but it should only be used in case of an emergency.
