How do I get a smooth finish with Waterlox?
Wipe the surface clean with a clean lint free cloth, very lightly dampened with mineral spirits. This will pick up all the material from the pores and slurry from buffing and should restore the clarity. At this point you should have a very smooth, consistent surface.
How long does Waterlox sealer last?
Waterlox finishes tend to wear very nicely and settle into a nice patina. They also will maintain a high level of protection even when worn (to a certain degree) due to the penetrating nature of the coatings. In general, the lifespan of an interior coating on a well-used surface will be 7-10 years.
