What dye can I use to dye suede?

Can you dye real suede?
The Suede Dye can be used to restore items of suede, or used to change the colour of suede to a completely new colour. As well as dyeing suede, the Suede Dye can also be used to dye Nubuck leathers too. Once applied, and left to dry, the suede becomes completely colour fast and the colour will not rub off.
Can you use fabric dye on suede?
Suede is used for boots, shoes, jackets and even automobile upholstery. But, it’s a soft material that is susceptible to water damage. You can change the color of a suede item with fabric dye. The process takes a few hours, but is the same for dying boots or other suede goods.

NEVER use petroleum jelly (i.e. Vaseline) as a waterproofing agent on suede—it will stain the fabric! Do not store suede in a plastic bag, or other non-breathable storage bag as the suede may dry out and crack.

- Brush the suede again with the suede brush after the final coat of dye has dried.
