The Ride began in 1994 and was called the “California AIDS Ride.” In 2002, it was rebranded as AIDS/LifeCycle. Since 1994, participants have raised more than $300 million for the HIV and AIDS-related services of the Los Angeles LGBT Center and San Francisco AIDS Foundation.

The Northeast AIDS Ride, now known as Cycle for the Cause, was started in response to the AIDS epidemic in 1995. To this day, we continue to make the three-day, 275-mile journey from Boston to New York City every September, raising funds and awareness to further our progress towards ending HIV and AIDS.
