What is interlayer glass?

Interlayers are used to permanently bond two plies of glass in a laminated configuration. Laminated glass is a great choice for many applications to meet a variety of requirements including acoustic, aesthetic, blast-mitigating, hurricane, safety and ultraviolet protection.

What does SGP interlayer stand for?

SentryGlas Plus
SGP (SentryGlas Plus) is another popular security interlayer used in laminated glass, with increased strength and security. Heat soaked and toughened glass can be incorporated into the laminated glazing to create a secure pane that will be tough to break and even tougher to break through.

What is SentryGlas interlayer?

Originally developed for the hurricane glazing market, SentryGlas® Interlayer is used in applications where high-performance glass is required such as security and structural glazing, bomb blast, ballistics and marine vessels.

What is SentryGlas plus?

Security – SentryGlas® Plus provides prolonged physical attack and burglary resistance with. 5 times the tear strength and 100 times the rigidity of conventional PVB Interlayer’s. SGP provides greater security from a range of threats than any other traditional laminated glass.

How thick is an SGP interlayer?

SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayer on roll is available in 0,76 mm (30 mil) and 0.89 mm (35 mil) thickness.

What is an Ionoplast interlayer?

Ionoplast interlayers have a very different chemistry than that of PVB. Ionoplast is a semi crystalline polymer while PVB is more amorphous. This unique chemistry gives the high strength, tear resistance and enhanced structural properties.

What is Ionoplast interlayer?

What is SGP made of?

The DuPont Sentry Glass Plus (SGP) is composed of a tough plastic interlayer composite that is laminated between two layers of tempered glass.

What is SentryGlas® interlayer?

Kuraray SentryGlas® (SG5000) is an interlayer designed to be laminated between two or multiple layers of glass. Originally developed for the hurricane glazing market, SentryGlas® can be used in applications where high performance glass is required. Shop for SentryGlas® Interlayer.

What is SentryGlas® ionoplast?

Tech Tip– SentryGlas® ionoplast interlayers help create safety glass that protects against bigger storms, larger impacts and more powerful blasts. SentryGlas® is 5 times tougher, up to 100 times stiffer than conventional laminating materials.

Why choose SentryGlas® security glass?

When designing security glass for bullet and blast resistant buildings or vehicles, SentryGlas® will help let light in and keep trouble out. Decorative Glazing– There are many ways to decorate laminated safety glass using SentryGlas® interlayer by embedding a metal mesh or metallized PET fabric or by printing on a PVB interlayer.

What is SentryGlas made of?

It is made of high-performance ionomer resin, without any plasticizers. 100 times stiffer and 5 times stronger than PVB interlayers. SentryGlas interlayer bears a higher load than PVB laminate, achieving the same loads by the thinner glass. Exceptional stability, and has no edge defects on 20 years applications.
