Re: Semporna/Sipadan safety I had been there last year 2016 for 2 weeks for holidays at Semporna , Bohedulang Island ,Mataking Island ,Mabul Island..well..its safe condition. Most island i have been visit..its secure by Army Camp..example Sibuan Island ,Matabuan Island ,Mataking Island and Sipadan Island.
How safe is Sipadan for snorkeling?
Firstly Sipdan is not a snorkelling site, it is a dive site. The chances of being kidnapped on Sipadan is thousands of time less than being shot in the US. Also you do not actually stay on Sipidan but elsewhere depending on the dive package. The area is heavily patrolled by Malaysian Forces.
