I lived in Kilburn for 18 months, and had no problems at all. It’s not exactly salubrious, and the High Road is a little grubby, but there’s plenty of lovely Victorian housing, and with the Black Lion and The North London, you now at least have a couple of nice pubs close to the tube.

Er, Tottenham Hale is perfectly safe. As a student in one of the Unite blocks you can be off the tube and into your room in about 3 minutes, having passed no dangerous areas at all. The area is basically being gentrified with large scale development of blocks of expensive flats and amenities.
