What is inventory management module in SAP?

The Inventory module supports processes to optimize inventory management, including the following: Managing item master data records. Working with serial and batch numbers. Managing Inventory transactions, including goods receipts, goods issues, inventory transfers, initial item quantity settings, and inventory counts.

What is meant by inventory in SAP?

Inventory management deals with the management of stock, either on value or quantity basis. It includes planning, entry, and keeping records of all the movements of goods. Goods movement creates a document that updates all the stock quantity and value in the inventory that is known as the material document.

How do you add inventory in SAP?

By default, SAP does not maintain any stock for a material….To add a quantity to a material, follow these steps.

  1. In the SD Master Data Screen, enter transaction code: MB1C.
  2. Enter the Movement type as 561, Plant, Storage Location.
  3. In the below screen, enter material no.

Inventory Posting is used to reconcile the item quantities with the Inventory Counting results. After creating an Inventory Counting document to record the counting results, you must post the inventory changes to effect the adjustments in the system.

What is inventory posting group in Navision?

The Inventory posting group determines the inventory account in the general ledger to which the program posts for transactions involving this item (Any transaction related to Item Inventory). Once you create the inventory posting groups, you must link to the relevant G/L accounts in the Inventory Posting Setup window.
