What is the process of attestation?

Attestation is the act of witnessing the signing of a formal document and then also signing it to verify that it was properly signed by those bound by its contents. Attestation is a legal acknowledgment of the authenticity of a document and a verification that proper processes were followed.

An Apostille is a type of attestation in which documents are legalised in a particular format that is acceptable in all nations that belong to the Hague Convention. Can a police officer attest documents?

Character certificate can only be attested by Police record verification and Group A gazetted officer. For copies of original documents, both Group A and Group B officers can attest the documents. The name, designation, and contact number of the gazetted officer should be clearly mentioned.

No, only original documents are accepted by the Govt. of India for attestation. Can VFS assist in attestation of foreign issued documents from the Ministry of External Affairs? No, Ministry of External Affairs only attests documents of Indian Origin.

Whereas, VFS holds absolutely NO responsibility for such damage should the applicant want their document to be delaminated by VFS Global. Why there is no red seal on my document/ certificate?
